JASON Akermanis will make a once-off appearance for the Murray Magpies in the Hume Football League.
CAPTIOn: Much to say: Jason Akermanis has courted controversy.
Akermanis, who made headlines after an incident during a one-game stint in the Ovens and King league last season, will line up for the Magpies against Lockhart on May 12.
The four-time All Australian found himself at the centre of controversy after launching a scathing attack on his Tarrawingee opponents after lining up for Milawa last April.
He said Tarrawingee was the dirtiest club he had played against and slammed opponent Rory O'Keeffe for a clash Akermanis labelled "a cheap shot" and "one of the weaker acts I have seen".
No free kick was paid or report laid.
After being sacked from a Queensland radio station last week after his controversial comments about the late Jim Stynes, Akermanis might be looking for a full-time gig with a country club.
Is Aker worth the trouble? Let us know your thoughts.
