THE Heathcote District Netball Association's premier has kicked off the season with a bang.
Last year's A-grade victor, Mount Pleasant, started the season strongly, beating Colbinabbin by 11 goals on its home turf on Saturday.
It was goal-for-goal in the first quarter, and while Colbinabbin remained competitive for much of the remaining terms, the Blues ran away to claim a 37-26 win.
Other winners in the opening round of the Heathcote league season were White Hills, Heathcote and Leitchville-Gunbower, who posted a huge 45-17 win over Huntly.
Jayeden Quin and Lauren Lloyd were standout performers for Huntly, while Jodie Lake and Rebecca Green were strong in defence for Leitchville-Gunbower.
In the Warrnambool and District league, premier South Rovers toppled Timboon Demons 46-37, with Kristyn Abbott, Tanya Barker and Jessica Squires best for the winners.
