STAR jockey Glen Boss clocked up another victory this spring at the Bendigo Cup.
Owner Jayco's Gerry Ryan has achieved one of racing's rarest feats with victory in the race he sponsors - the $250,000 Jayco Bendigo Cup.Ryan, who races 2010 Melbourne Cup winner Americain and bankrolls cycling's World Tour team Orica-GreenEDGE, claimed the country feature with Puissance de Lune.
More used to handing out cheques on Bendigo Cup day than receiving them, Ryan's Limerick Lane operation earned $150,000 for the win.
Puissance de Lune, trained by Darren Weir and ridden by Glen Boss, careered to a spectacular eight-length win in record time over Practiced and Fiumicino.
The grey sat second outside of leader Fiumicino before exploding away at the top of the straight.
His time of 2;27.9 smashed Midnight Tango's record of 2:28.05, set in 2005.
Puissance de Lune ($3.40) is now likely to be set for Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Flemington on Saturday week.
