Other award winners at last night’s gala dinner in Melbourne included Jonsson’s Farm Market for driving strategic growth,
Nolan’s Meat for pioneering a new export system with exceptional food safety standards and Tasmanian-based Bridestowe Lavender Estate for its innovation in a new and emerging industry.
Macquarie Agricultural Funds Management took home the award for employer of choice, Yalumba Wine Company won the new environment, energy and climate action award, Tasmanian mixed farming operation Eastfield Pty Ltd won the environment, energy and climate action award and Pfizer Animal Health was recognised for its technology and innovation in Australian animal health.
The awards are run by Monash University Gippsland and Vice Chancellor Helen Bartlett said this year’s winners displayed the diversity of Australian agribusiness.
“With three new award categories this year, we’ve seen an exciting mix of business innovation from technology to marketing, and people management to industry leadership,” professor Bartlett said.
NAB Agribusiness general manager, Khan Horne praised the winners.
“I think this is the most exciting year we’ve had for the awards, given the diversity of industries represented and ingenuity and business acumen demonstrated across the award categories,” Mr Horne said.
“It shows how individuals and companies continue to drive the productivity, profitability and sustainability of Australian agribusiness.”
