A MAJOR highway will be closed for most of the day following a fatal truck accident.
Emergency crews were called to the Mitchell Highway, 30km south of Wellington following reports of a crash at 4.10am.
Crews arrived to find a truck fully laden with magazines on its side and the driver dead.
The highway is currently blocked in both directions, with it expected to remain closed for most of the day.
A NSW police spokesman said traffic diversions are in place at Molong down Cumnock Road, while traffic south of Molong should divert along Burrendong Way.
Heavy vehicles cannot travel along Burrendong Way, and will have to use an alternate route via Parkes.
