BUYERS were seeing red - at least for the top lots - at the Camperdown super select complete dispersal sale.
Top price was Jaguar Classic Rose 1-ET-Red a red heifer from US Blackrose cow family offered by Adam Courtney of Jaguar Holsteins Cobrico.The heifer, which sold for $8600 to Terry and Janine Clark, of Nerrena near Leongatha, was due to calve in February to sexed semen from Benjamin-Red.
The Clarks also paid $7100 for red carrier Jaguar Advent Rose-ET-RC GP83 which calved in August and produced 50.5 litres/day at a recent herd test and a black and white Holstein out of the Ding cow family for $5000.
This later lot was backed by 11 generations of EX or VG scored dams, was producing 47.6 litres/day at a recent herd test and was offered by Jason and Jackie Elliott of Hatali Holsteins Kolora.
Seventy lots averaged $2300 with three lots passed in.
