THIS spring marks 50 years since women started frocking up for the Fashions on the Field event at races across Victoria.
To celebrate, the Victoria Racing Club and the Australian Racing Museum have collated an historic exhibition dating back to the first Fashions on the Field at Flemington in 1962.
It covers key fashion moments from Jean Shrimpton judging the fashion plates in 1965, to the more recent celebrity guest judges including actor Sarah Jessica-Parker last year.
The exhibition is at the National Sports Museum until June 30.
