INTERNATIONAL stars Santana and Chris Isaak are set to headline Deniliquin's newest music festival.
The first Deni Blues & Roots Festival, at the Ute Muster site, will be held over the Easter long weekend, March 30 and 31.
Santana, Steve Miller Band, Bonnie Raitt, Chris Isaak, Jimmy Cliff, Gallie and Shannon Bourne and Collard Greens and Gravy will take the stage during the two-day festival.
Chugg Entertainment chief executive Matthew Lazarus-Hall told Weekly Times Now getting the line-up together was "a bit of a challenge" but there was a lot of acts around that time of the year due to bigger festivals.
Chugg Entertainment has joined forces with Rob Potts Entertainment Edge and the Deni Ute Muster team to put on the festival.
"We hope to get similar crowds to the Ute Muster - about 8000 to 10,000 people each day," he said.
He said thousands of people would be in the region for the long weekend and he hoped other festival goers would travel from further afield to listen to the line-up.
Mr Lazarus-Hall described the Deni Ute Muster as an amazing festival with a great site for the Easter festival to build on.
"We want to grow the event with the community and the Deni Ute Muster people. It's a lot easier to start a festival when they have such a great site."
Further acts are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Tickets to Deni residents went on sale today.
Early bird tickets will go on sale Wednesday and tickets to the general public go on sale next Monday.
Camping facilities will open Good Friday at noon. There will be VIP tent areas as well camp sites and site for caravans available.
