UPDATE: ABOUT 70 people turned out to hear independent federal MP Bob Katter speak at last night's forum at Irymple.
Mr Katter, who is opposed to water cutbacks under the Murray Darling Basin Plan, urged people living in affected irrigation communities not to give up the fight.

He told the Mildura audience that governments were like prostitutes.
''If you've got the power, they'll do anything you tell them to,'' he said.
Forums also will be held at Griffith tonight and Barham tomorrow night.
The Mildura forum had been originally scheduled for Thursday night, but was brought forward.
As well as voicing his opposition to the MDB Plan, Mr Katter is on a mission to cut the market share of Australia's supermarket duopoly, and seek out potential candidates to stand for the Australian Party at the next federal and state elections.
Mr Katter registered the party in June last year.
