A SEVERE thunderstorm warning has been issued for southeast Queensland.

It comes just days after the region was battered by destructive winds and large hailstones.

The weather bureau issued the warning this afternoon for the Granite Belt and Darling Downs regions west of Brisbane, including Warwick, Toowoomba and Stanthorpe.

It comes after wild storms at the weekend in Brisbane and surrounds caused flash flooding and left more than 100,000 homes without power.
