TWO people have died on country roads in North East Victoria this morning.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman saida 39-year-old Tallygaroopna man was killed after the grain truck he was driving hit a tree.
She said emergency services were called to Tungamah Main Rd near Chinamans Lane about 6.30am.Earlier today emergency crews were tackling a grass fire at Yarrawonga South after a fatal car crash.
The car left the road, went over an embankment and caught fire at Yarrawonga South - 265km northeast of Melbourne - around 4am, police say.
The fire then spread from the Benalla-Yarrawonga Rd crash site to neighbouring paddocks and burned about 48ha.
The car's driver and sole occupant died at the scene.
The deaths take Victoria's road toll to 258, equal with the same time last year.
