A SEVEN-year-old boy has died after the car he was in left the road and hit a tree in the NSW Southern Tablelands.
Police say a Toyota station wagon carrying two adults and four children left Jerrara Road and crashed at Bungonia near Goulburn about 4.45pm yesterday (AEDT).
The boy died at the scene and a 10-year-old girl was airlifted to Canberra Hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.
The 38-year-old male driver and the other three passengers were not injured.
The driver was taken to Goulburn Base Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
