A HUGE crowd is watching decades of breeding go under the hammer at Blighty today.

The offering from Galaview Holsteins established in 1936 is the first stage dispersal and includes up to 360 head.

At lot 120 today there was big demand for the spring-calved and rejoined heifers.

These neat-uddered and big framed first calvers sold up to $2800 for a September-calved heifer whose dam had a PI of 102 and second dam a PI of 127.

This heifer was sired by Regancrest-Mr Samuelo ET TL TV TY EX90 IE.

A lot of these heifers, which are included in the 170 head spring-calved portion of the sale were selling consistently from $1700-$2200.

About 40 buyers registered with early volume buyers from Wagga Wagga, NSW and Tallangatta.

Lowest prices so far were $1200-$1400.
