WHEN a tractor is offered as first prize in a cattle judging competition the entrants usually come thick and fast.

ALLAN Mathers, who runs the cattle judging at the Echuca-Moama Show, got pretty excited when the local Claas farm machinery dealer first mentioned it would donate a tractor as a prize for the Supreme beef bull exhibitor - until he realised the dealer meant a toy one.

The lucky winner was Scott Bruton from Lake Boga, pictured left, with his Beef Shorthorn champion and his prize.

Still, how many shows could boast a big toy as their supreme trophy, asked Allan. And you know what they say, sometimes less is more.
