BENDIGO will host next year's Australian Alpaca Association National Show and Sale.

The three-day event , from October 10-13, is expected to attract more than 300 breeds at the Bendigo Exhibition Centre.

Australian Alpaca Association Victorian Eastern Region president Steve Pate said the city was an ideal destination for the show because it was central and had great facilities.

"This is an annual event which is free for the public to attend," he said.

"In 2013 we will celebrate the 20th show with over 600 top alpacas from around Australia.

"Over 300 fleeces will also be judged in a variety of age and colour classes culminating in the best in colour alpaca for each different colour and the Supreme Alpaca award," he said.
