THE final figure for the Uardry Merino studs, dispersed at Hay in NSW on Friday, came in at $1.871m.

Selling agents Elders, which had been given the task of selling the stock by new property owners Tom Brinkworth and family, finalised the figures yesterday.

Mark Newnham, Elders Hay, said a total of 10,180 Merinos grossed $1.871 million for an average of $184 a head.

The sale breakdown was:

  • 8500 Merino ewes to a top of $400, average $172
  • 1630 rams to a top of $7500, average $194. The ram average includes several big pens of unclassed ram lambs which sold down to $95.

Elders will now negotiate with any buyers interested in purchasing the stud naming rights of Uardry, Sims Uardry and Sims Uardry Poll Merinos, which includes intellectual rights and client database information.
