THE first meeting of Victoria's new young farmers group has been delayed.

A meeting scheduled for last week has been postponed until midway through January.

The group is the result of a parliamentary inquiry which recognised the need to boost the image of agriculture and encourage young people into the industry

Groups invited to the meeting, to be held in Melbourne, include VFF Young Agribusiness Professionals, Victorian Young Farmers, Ag Next, Young Dairy Development program, Future Farmers Network and Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria.
