UP to 80 firefighters are battling a grass blaze which has sparked near Sale in Gippsland in Victoria%u2019s east.
Twenty fire trucks are on scene at the 30ha fire north of Sale near Cobains.
The fire started at 3.40pm and quickly grew due to high winds but up to 20 trucks from surrounding areas have swarmed to the scene.
Water aircraft have also been called in to help douse the front of the fire before it reached Crofts Rd.
A CFA spokeswoman said the fire was expected to be under control soon.
"Wind was an issue initially but the speed of the head of the fire has slowed because the winds have eased.
"They have called in the water aircraft and hope that will help control the head of the fire.’’
