A MAN is in custody charged with 14 driving offences after sparking two police pursuits on the NSW Central Coast on Christmas Day.

Officers saw a Mazda 3 driving the wrong way along along the three-lane Central Coast Highway at Erina at about 2.15pm yesterday.

The driver only stopped after hitting another car and was issued with an infringement notice.

At about 9.40pm that night, other officers detected the man allegedly driving at high speed at Point Clare and gave chase.

Police allege the man reached speeds of up to 134km/h in a 70km/h zone and the pursuit was stopped for safety reasons.

Twenty minutes later, numerous triple zero calls were made about the same car being driven erratically at Green Point, sparking another police pursuit.

The 43-year-old driver was finally arrested and charged with 14 driving offences, to face court later today.
