POLICE are searching for a prisoner who escaped from Langi Kal Kal Prison, near Beaufort.
Investigators believe that Christopher John Clarke escaped from the prison some time between 9pm last night and 7am this morning.
Police started searching the immediate area this morning.
Clarke, who was imprisoned for burglary and theft, is 29 years old.
He is described as a Caucasian, 192cm tall, solid build, shaved hair and weighing approximately 116kg.
He was last seen wearing green coloured prison clothes.
Langi Kal Kal Prison is a large working farm and is a minimum security pathway for protection prisoners from Ararat Prison.
