UPDATE: A BODY has been pulled from the Murrumbidgee River in southwestern NSW after a police search for a missing man.
Police said the body of a 29-year-old man was recovered on the river south of Griffith at about 3pm (AEDT) today but he was yet to be formally identified.
A search by police and emergency services crews was launched yesterday afternoon following reports a canoe had tipped over and a man had fallen into the river near Darlington Point but had not resurfaced.
The search was suspended at nightfall but resumed at 9am today.
Police say a post mortem examination will be carried out to determine the cause of death and a report will be prepared for the NSW Coroner.
