DESPITE the Toyota HiLux's reputation for being "unbreakable", it simply can't stand up to Aussie sand and an incoming tide.
One poor HiLux owner discovered this truth recently when his "unbreakable" got stuck in a channel at The Entrance on NSW's central coast after trying to rescue his broken jet ski.
The ute (above) was rescued 24 hours later, thanks to an excavator and low tide.
Still, it proved one thing: you can take a HiLux to water but you can't make it sink.
