LOCAL on Victoria's Surf Coast are a step of ahead of most of us this year.
Richard Greenhough, of Jan Juc, was pleased to read in his local paper the Surf Coast Times that the local coppers had been out in force the night before, keeping revellers in check at New Year's celebrations.
The thing is it hadn't happened yet.
He was reading this on Monday, December 31, at lunch time.
The paper, normally published on Tuesday, was out a day early but still carried the Tuesday, January 1 dateline.
The story, with a picture of two local cops had the headline "Police keep watch on first day of new year" and a paragraph that read "New Year's Eve has come and gone but police have vowed to crack down on anyone breaking the rules on the Surf Coast ... ."
Richard is no doubt hoping the paper might publish the winning Tattslotto numbers a day early.
