UPDATE: MT WOORUT residents in NSW are being told to evacuate due to an uncontrolled fire burning in Warrumbungle National Park.

The bushfire is currently burning north of Timor Road towards Siding Spring Observatory.

The fire, west of Coonabarabran, is threatening about a dozen isolated properties at Mt Woorut and an emergency warning has been issued.

Firefighters and waterbombing aircraft are on scene while police evacuate the area.

Meanwhile, a cool change has brought relief to NSW RFS officers fighting bushfires in other areas across the state, but about 30 fires remain uncontained.

At Yarrabin, near Cooma, more than 100 firefighters continue to establish containment lines and extinguish spot fires, with no threat to properties and a fire near Yass has been contained.
