Vashti, who protested with her husband John about unfair milk prices outside a Coles supermarket in Warrnambool on Wednesday, said there was a great response to the protest and 600-plus farmer and industry meeting on Monday night at Noorat but consumers wanted to know what to buy to support farmers.
Displaying the products, which will be available for purchase with proceeds going to local cancer charity Peter’s Project, will inform consumers about local products.
Monday night more than 600 dairy farmers and industry service providers vented their frustration at poor farmgate prices and rising costs at a meeting at Noorat.
Wednesday there was a peaceful protest outside Coles, and Woolworths, in Warrnambool including eight tractors and up to 15 people.
