WEANER heifers sold to subdued prices at Elders Casterton's sale today.

They were bought by Nampara Pastoral, Penola and Robe, South Australia.

The top Herefords were Poll Herefords, bred by Geoff and Bill Lambert, Taronga, Paschendale, to Marc Greening, Injemira, NSW.

They fetched 149c/kg for a pen of 27 300kg heifers, or $447.

Bill Lambert said this price was considerably lower than last year's. Last year his tops made 224c/kg.
