A DAREDEVIL who hitched a ride on top of a freight train which reached speeds of up to 115km/h yesterday has a date with a magistrate.
NSW Police say the 27-year-old woman climbed on to the roof of the train about 3am while it was stopped in Broken Hill yesterday.After that it was a wild ride with the train hitting speeds of up to 115km/h during the four hour journey to Ivanhoe Railway Station.
The woman is said to have jumped off the top of a container and walked away, according to the train driver.
The daredevil was found by police walking along the Cobb Highway and said she was trying to reach Adelaide.
She was given a court attendance notice for travelling on part of a train not intended for passengers and is expected to appear in Broken Hill Local Court on March 11.
