WESTERN Victorian breeders won champion and reserve champion Jersey at International Dairy Week.
Riverside Jerseys, Corey and Karin Couch from Nirranda claimed the double senior award, best udder as well as champion breed exhibit today.
Supreme Jersey Riverside Country Lollypop EX93 was intermediate champion at Tatura last year and best udder.
Reserve champion Riverside Colettes Covergirl EX91 came second in the junior three-year-old class last year.
Thanks to Lollypops success last year, the Corey said the couple were “very hopeful” she would do well this year.
“There’s 12 months of planning to get them calved in and ready to go.”
The Couch’s described the win as a team effort, thanking their five children and helpers: Mike Berry from Oregon, Louie Cozzitorto, California, Anthony Glennen and Bob Coburn both from The Sisters.
Riverside Jerseys also won reserve intermediate champion.
NSW stud Brunchilli Farming Trust claimed the premier breeder award, while in a close finish B&V Wilson and family, Shirlinn were awarded premier exhibitor.
Holstein judging begins at 8.30am tomorrow morning.
