A KERANG cherry orchard owner is suing Goulburn Murray Water for flooding in January 2011.

Three companies associated with the cherry farm have launched the case for $13.5 million, which will be heard by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal in May.

Up to 25,000 trees were destroyed in the floods when water escaped from an irrigation channel.

Goulburn Murray Water refused to make further comment.
