A FIRE was last night burning in hilly bushland just northeast of Hobart's CBD.
The fire was moving uphill from the northeast side of the Queens Domain, fanned by strong winds, Tasmania Police said at 10.30pm last night.
Authorities say no buildings were under threat. Reports were the blaze had consumed about 5ha of long, dry grass at a city council reserve next to the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens.
At least 14 crews were battling to bring it under control.
The Tasmania Fire Service said the fire could be seen from around Hobart.
