AN English tourist has been stopped in his tracks after being nabbed drink driving at more than twice the legal limit in the state's west.
The 23-year-old came to police attention after he was detected driving at 67km/h above the speed limit at Kaniva, in the state’s west.
He was stopped by Horsham Highway Patrol shortly after 10am on the Western Highway.
Police allege the man, who was alone in the vehicle, was driving at 167km/h in a 100km/h zone.
He later returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.111per cent on an evidentiary breath test.
His vehicle was impounded under the hoon legislation.
He was issued with an immediate summons to appear at Horsham Magistrates' Court in relation to various traffic offences.
