A STEADY stream of votes in Weekly Times Now's poll on duck hunting is continuing.

Animal welfare groups have overwhelmed hunters in a campaign for supporters to respond to Weekly Times Now's online survey.

With more than 37,000 votes recorded, it is the single biggest response to a poll in our website's history.

A massive vote on the weekend saw support on the question "should duck hunting be banned'', completely change.

For four days the tally had been running strongly in favour of duck hunting but this was reversed over the long weekend with 72 per cent of people voting now saying it should be banned.

The Victorian Government has already agreed to a 12-week duck hunting season this year.
