POLICE have been granted permission to interview the man accused of murdering Jill Meagher in relation to possible other charges.Police applied to the Melbourne Magistrates Court yesterday to interview Adrian Ernest Bayley.
They also applied for permission to examine Bayley, 41, for a distinguishing mark.
Magistrate Peter Reardon granted the application.
Bayley is charged with murdering and raping Ms Meagher, 29, an ABC staffer who disappeared from a Melbourne laneway in September last year. Her body was found several days later.
Her death sparked widespread community reaction including a walk of 30,000 people in Melbourne o protest violence against women.
Bayley will face a pre-trial committal hearing in March.
