APPLE and Pear Australia Limited is in the market for a new managing director as long-term head Jon Durham tenders his resignation.
Mr Durham's resignation is effective September 30 this year.He has worked with APAL and its predecessor organisation, Australian Apple and Pear Growers Association, for more than two decades and will step down to pursue other interests and spend more time contributing to the family business.
APAL chairman John Lawrenson said the board would be sorry to see Jon leave APAL after more than 20 years of outstanding service.
"We are fortunate to have eight months notice of Jon's departure. This will give the APAL Board adequate time to conduct a widespread search for his replacement,'' Mr Lawrenson said.
"Jon will leave APAL well resourced and in good shape.''
