FEDERAL Agriculture Minister Joe Ludwig will meet with concerned Victorian dairy farmers over the future of the industry this month.

Co-founder of new lobby group Farmer Power, Jock O'Keefe, and United Dairyfarmers of Victoria president Kerry Callow said the two groups would meet Senator Ludwig in Melbourne on February 22.

Government assistance and financial support for dairy farmers is expected to be a top priority for discussion.

O'Keefe and Callow plan to stress the importance of the industry to the state's export earnings and employment.

The meeting comes after the organisations agreed to work together at a meeting at Koroit last week.

The UDV, and its perceived lack of action for dairy farmers, came under fire at a meeting attended by more than 600 people at Noorat last month, which resulted in Farmer Power's formation.
