TWO teens have been charged with robbing and abducting two people from a home in northwestern New South Wales at the weekend. An 80-year-old man and his 56-year-old daughter were woken by loud noises from inside their home at Coraki early on Sunday morning.
The pair were confronted by two masked men armed with a machete and an axe who allegedly threatened them before demanding cash and cigarettes from their adjoining shop.
They were then forced into the woman's Nissan Tiida and driven about 3km from Coraki before being ordered out.
Police were alerted and officers spotted the car at Casino a short time later.
A pursuit began but the pair evaded police when they stopped the car in a nearby street and fled on foot.
Two young men - aged 17 and 15 - were arrested in Walgett yesterday and charged with robbery and abduction.
Both were refused bail to appear at Walgett Children's Court today.
