A MAN has died after his ute ran off the road and rolled down an embankment near Ballan, west of Melbourne, last night.
He was driving north on the Greendale-Blackwood Road near Dales’s Creek when the car veered off the road and rolled around 10.20pm.
The Toyota utility travelled down an embankment before rolling onto the driver’s side, killing the driver, a 64-year-old man.
The man’s passenger, a 69-year-old man, was conveyed to hospital with serious injuries.
Police are still trying to locate next of kin before the man can be formally identified.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
The death brings Victoria's road toll to 26 for the year, compared with 34 at the same time last year.
