A HUGE fire near Victoria's Alpine region has forced the cancellation of a popular music festival.Organisers of the Cool Summer Festival on Mt Hotham announced the cancellation today saying it was too risky to have revellers on the fire ravaged mountain.
"It is with heavy hearts that we let you know that the Cool Summer Festival will not be going ahead this year," organisers said.
"As all of you know, the area around Mt Hotham has been severely impacted by bushfires, and is still under threat as we speak."
Big acts including sister band Stonefield were on the bill.
The festival, scheduled for the weekend of February 22, will not be relocated due to "legal and safety measures".
A festival spokesperson confirmed ticket holders will be refunded, and the festival will return in 2014.
