WHILE many Department of Primary Industries offices are closing, Warrnambool is getting a new one.

The State Government announced today that a new site has been chosen for the $8 million building.

Agriculture Minister Peter Walsh today announced the building would be established at 703-707 Raglan Parade.

"The $8.25 million DPI office will also house staff from Parks Victoria and the Department of Sustainability and Environment, providing a Government services hub for the south west region," Mr Walsh said.

"The new office will be a modern, purpose-built facility in a highly visible location in the centre of town."

Construction is expected to begin in 2014.

Staff will continue to offer services at their current leased properties but will relocate to the new and much more suitable purpose built facility when construction is complete.
