VEGETABLE seed company Fairbanks Seeds has signed an agreement to become Syngenta's sole leafy veg and brassica seed distributor.
Seed research and developer Syngenta will now use Fairbanks to distribute their new seed varieties.
According to Fairbanks Seeds general manager Anthony Ladds, Syngenta invests about more than $1 billion into research and development of germ plasm technology each year.
Toolbox for growers
GRAEME Smith Consulting has launched a website and Greenhouse Growers Toolbox app.
They have been designed as industry resources for the cropping industry. It will feature a wide range of information for growers, investors, developers, researchers and advisors.
The Greenhouse Growers Toolbox was developed for commercial and hobby greenhouse or hydroponic growers for everyday system design or management use.
The complete app is a suite of eight calculators to measure acid or product dosing, calculate treatment PPM, greenhouse area and volume, irrigation flows, rates and volumes, hydronic boiler calculations and irrigation pump capacity.
LEADING industry researchers will team-up with local Victorian agronomists at a field day event next month, to help raise awareness among potato growers and processors about key research and development activities under way across the country.
The field day will be hosted in Bungaree, near Ballarat on February 27, and includes activities from the AusVeg Potato Extension Program.
