BOB Katter was out trying to break Tony Abbott's monopoly on the bicycle media stunt last week.
Swapping his trademark Akubra for a bicycle helmet, Bob hopped on one of those single-speed "fixies" - bikes without gears or brakes - favoured by Gen Y.
The fixie belonged to Jordan Gyss (pictured with Bob), of Ingham - who was one of seven Queensland winners of the ABC's Heywire story competition.
But judging by his tentative, wobbly few circuits, Bob would be best to stick to his day job.
Still he was well chuffed with his effort and, as he wobbled past the media, was heard to exclaim: "Tony Abbott ... ha!"
