YOUNG farm professionals want to convince governments to invest more in agricultural education.
The topic will debated at a Young Agribusiness Professionals conference in Lorne on April 12.The conference will be called Yoghurt Grows on Trees: Image and opportunity in the food and fibre sector trying a positive image of agriculture and attract young people into the industry.
YAP chairman Aaron Sanderson said industry self-promotion and increased government investment in agricultural education would help secure the next generation of food and fibre producers.
Mr Sanderson said there was also a need to see more agriculture in the national curriculum and increased government investment in agricultural training.
