A LARGE bushfire is still burning near remote towns in western Victoria.The slow-moving fire, which has burned more than 12,000ha, continues to linger near small farming communities around the Grampians Ranges, west of Melbourne.
The CFA issued watch and act warnings for the Victoria Valley, Woohlpooer, Glenisla and Mooralla, saying fire could affect the areas this morning.
Residents will be briefed on the situation at a community meeting at 10.30am.
The fire is expected to take several days to bring under control.
Meanwhile, a Geelong man is expected to be charged with recklessly causing a grassfire, which destroyed sheds, threatened homes and created traffic chaos north of Melbourne on Monday.
The 48-year-old man is likely to be charged on summons, police said.
