NEVER work with children or animals, and never live in Canberra unless you have to.
The working with animals rule doesn't seem to have been a problem when 100 Hereford heifers were asked to form the figure 100 to celebrate the national capital's centenary at the Royal Canberra Show at the weekend.
But if that's what they do for laughs up there, we reckon the second part of our new saying rings true.
Canberra's actual 100th birthday is on March 13, to mark the day then Governor General Lord Denman laid one of three foundation stones for the national capital.
Back in 1913, one stone wasn't enough. PM Andrew Fisher and home affairs minister King O'Malley wanted their own stones to lay. Some things never change.
